Όπως αναφέρει στο σημείωμα της η πολυεπιστημονική καλλιτέχνης Holly Lueders, κατά τη διάρκεια του lockdown 2020-2021,  εμπνεύστηκε και δημιούργησε  πίνακες από δωμάτια στο σπίτι της στο νησί της Πάτμου. 

Πίνακες  ζωγραφικής με ακουαρέλα ένα μέσον δημιουργεί χρωματισμούς που αλλάζουν συνεχώς ανάλλογα με τις βαλλοντικές σσυνθήκες 

«Κλειδωμένη  μέσα και ανίκανη  να ταξιδέψω έξω από το νησί, καθημερινά ταξίδευα μέσα από αυτά τα δωμάτια ξαναβλέποντας οπτικά τα αντικείμενα και τα αντικείμενα που πέρασα χρόνια μαζεύοντας, συσσωρεύοντας και φτιάχνοντας. Έχοντας ζήσει μια ζωή στην Πάτμο, όλα αυτά τα δωμάτια ήταν διακοσμημένα με την προσωπική μου συλλογή από παλιά πιάτα, κεντήματα και τοπικά έπιπλα αντίκες. Η ζωγραφική της σκηνής βοήθησε να τα δούμε όλα ξανά.

Μετά από πολλά χρόνια στη Νέα Υόρκη, η Lueders αυτή τη στιγμή εδρεύει στην Αθήνα και την Ιταλία και εργάζεται στην κεραμική και τη ζωγραφική.

Over the winter during the lockdowns of 2020-2021, multidisciplinary artist Holly Lueders was inspired to create paintings from rooms in her island home on Patmos. Since the end of the 17th century, interiors have been documented by such portraits - ebbing and surging in fashion in Europe until the dawn of photography. Few have been done to capture domestic Greek scenes.

Watercolor is a medium always in transition, with the density and vibrancy of the pigments being dependent on existing environmental conditions. One must understand that the colors change moment to moment as they are absorbed into the rag paper. It is a process of painting and waiting as the changes occur through light and humidity.

“Locked inside and unable to travel off island, daily I journeyed through these rooms visually revisiting the objects and artifacts I spent years gathering, accumulating and making. Having lived a lifetime in Patmos, these rooms were all decorated with my personal collection of old plates, embroideries and local antique furniture. Painting the scene helped to see it all again, anew, and to reaffirm the beauty of the Greek vernacular.” — Holly Lueders 2021

After many years in New York, Lueders is currently based in Athens and Italy working in ceramics and painting.

The watercolors are primarily 40 x 40 cm on handmade cotton paper.
